Took me a while to get this up, it went through several edits, but I think it's good to go now. Hit me up on Deviant Art if you have any questions. I have no idea how to use this site and you can see that by how weird this pattern is from when I pasted it from its word document :c Help on getting it straightened out would be appreciated.
This pattern uses the G hook.

Fasten off.
Hdc the pieces together. Using gold on the corner dc, trc, dc. Sew bottom through back stitches.
Sew all pieces together, tail to body, head to body, feet to legs, nails to feet, legs to body wings to body, etc. If your under belly does not match with your body and tail this maybe be because of tension, so either add or subtract a few rows to even it out.
I recommend wiring the wings. The way that I did is that I cut out about 18-20 inches of galvanized utility wire-14 gauge with some pliers. I then bent them into the shape of the wings with about 3 inches excess on each end. I placed them in between the wings before sewing the pieces together. I then stabbed them into the back where I wanted them before I put the head on, and then wrapped the ends of each wing to each other in a link. Hope that makes sense.

The eyes are made with black and white felt and glued on with fabric glue. The mouth and nostrils are whip stitched on.
To wire the antennae cut some wire about twice the length of it with about an inch extra on each end. Bend it in half and insert it into the antenna then attach to head with wire ends and wrap it around.

This is wonderful!!!! I tried making my own a while back and put it aside when I got too frustrated with it, then I lost my notes and the parts I had done. I look at yours and think its a good thing because yours is amazing! Thank you for sharing your pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I based it off a keychain I have and I looked around the web for some patterns that had the shapes I wanted so I could have a reference. Feel free to use it as a base for anything you may make.
ReplyDeleteCould you explain the first row of the head a little better for me. The wording confuses me :\
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good!. Do you mind telling me what colors you used?
ReplyDeleteHmmm Well the only brand I ever use is Red Heart, and it's usually super saver. They just have such a huge variety of colors, and the textures pretty decent, For the Belly and Antennae I used Pale Yellow. For the body I used a cold, the claws I used a white(get the thin one, not the thick one that's super white) and a cerulean color for the wings. I usually throw my tags away after I start a skein because they start getting torn
DeleteIs it possible that you make a video how to chrochet the wings?
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late response!(I've changed emails and even though I've changed it here it keeps sending my messages to my old account) I don't have the resources to do that, but let me know where you're having trouble and I will walk you through it step by step!
DeleteWhy do you have 4 hdc at the end of row 2?
DeleteCould you please explain the first row of the head?:-)
ReplyDeleteI am having troubles with the wings. Says at end of row 5, chain 12 then says chain2 again?? Kinda confused. Could u help?
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply. This site won't acknowledge my new email and keeps sending messages to my old one. So you're 12 to had more stitches onto that row, then you're crocheting onto them, but at the end of the row you're chaining two and then continuing onto the next row. You're only doing the ch 12 for that one row, but continuing on with ch 2 with all the other rows

DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteCould you explain the first row of the head? Should I do a magic ring?
Hey! sorry for the VERY late reply. The email that I have attached to this account doesn't seem to receive messages, and the original one is no longer in use. The Head should be started in a chain, and then should be continued in the backs of the chain to make a round.
DeleteHi,
DeleteI'm afraid I still don't understand how the head should be begun. Following the pattern I end up with a weird tube with the wrong number of stiches.
Is there any way that can be clarified with that first row of the head?
She means you are crocheting on both sides of the foundation chains.

ReplyDeleteSo amazing pattern! Ty you for sharing it
ReplyDeleteWish me luck, I'm going to try to use this pattern to make an amigurumi Barney ^.^ It's for a ladie's son with cerebral palsy and autism. Wolfdreamer is a huge inspiration to me too and I've been meaning to post some free modified amigurumi patterns and Youtube videos.
